What finally relieved my joint pain (and the research behind it)

Boron: The Overlooked Trace Mineral That Supports Joint Pain, Bone Health & Midlife Vitality

Hi Reader,

If you’ve been dealing with joint stiffness, sudden inflammation, bone density concerns, or that frustrating sense that your body isn’t recovering the way it used to… you’re not alone. These changes can feel especially loud during perimenopause through post-menopause, when inflammation increases and we lose the protective benefits of estrogen.

But there’s one inexpensive, natural mineral that has been quietly helping thousands of women reclaim their joint comfort, mobility, bone strength, and mental clarity:

✨ Boron ✨

It’s not new.
It’s not trendy.
And it’s definitely not something the mainstream talks about… for reasons we’ll get into shortly.

But the research behind boron is compelling — and for many women, life-changing.

Why Boron Matters So Much During Midlife

Decades of research from physicians and scientists like (I included links for all the research if you want to take a deeper dive beyond this newsletter):

Dr. Jorge Flechas (MD, MPH)
Dr. Rex Newnham (PhD, DO, ND)

Dr. Forrest H. Nielsen (USDA Research Nutritionist)

Walter Last (Biochemist & Researcher)

…show that boron plays a major role in:

✔ joint pain reduction
✔ decreased inflammation
✔ healthier cartilage and connective tissue
✔ bone density support
✔ better calcium + magnesium balance
✔ stronger parathyroid function
✔ improved mental clarity
✔ deeper, more restorative sleep
✔ hormonal balance
✔ supporting the pineal gland

This is especially important for midlife women, because low estrogen dramatically increases:

• inflammation
• bone turnover
• calcium misplacement (into soft tissues instead of bone)
• joint discomfort and stiffness

Boron supports the body in reversing many of these patterns.

My Personal Experience: When Something Felt “Off”

About a month ago, something strange happened.

The knuckle on my right index finger suddenly became swollen, stiff, and painful — almost overnight. Then my right knee started feeling uncomfortable going down stairs. I was confused and honestly… upset.

I take incredible care of myself.
I eat clean, farm-fresh food.
I avoid toxins.
I exercise.
I stay active.

So why did it feel like my body was betraying me?

After the frustration wore off, I had a moment of truth:

💥 “The issue is in the tissues.”
Living in a city, being exposed to environmental toxins, and moving through post-menopause means my body may have stored years of stressors beneath the surface.

So I tried something simple:

1/8 teaspoon of borax in 1 liter of filtered water

Sipped throughout the day.
(Not near bedtime — boron can make the brain more alert.)

Within a few days:

✔ my brain felt switched “ON”
✔ I slept deeper
✔ I woke up rested
✔ swelling decreased
✔ pain eased noticeably
✔ the joint visibly shrank toward normal

It was dramatic — and honestly, relieving. Be patient and consistent. There are a few articles in the research that suggest you can do 7 days a week and some that suggested 5 days on and 2 days off. I honestly think you need to experiment and see what works for you plus read the links I provided. Never do anything or take anything without knowing what and why you are doing it. When Dr. Rex Newnham started using Borax water, it took about 3 weeks for a dramatic change. Be patient. Remember, our bodies have been exposed to a lot of toxicity over a few decades and that builds up. It's also important to eat food that is unprocessed and stop using chemicals in your laundry detergent, plastic storage containers, skin care and cleaning products as much as possible. I know that sounds like a lot to change in your lifestyle so go slow and do one thing a week or every two weeks.

The pay off will be big when you're eighty something and can do jumping jacks, pushups and look like you're fifteen years younger than you are!

Boron & Osteoporosis: A Critical Midlife Connection

Research from Dr. Rex Newnham revealed:

➡ Regions of the world with high natural boron have almost zero osteoporosis
➡ Regions low in boron have extremely
high osteoporosis and arthritis rates

Why?

Because boron helps:

✨ pull calcium into the bones
✨ prevent calcium buildup in soft tissues
✨ support the parathyroid gland (your calcium-regulating mastermind)
✨ improve bone density
✨ reduce bone loss after menopause

For women over 45, this is invaluable.
Boron supports bone preservation — and bone rebuilding.

Why Don’t We Hear About Boron?

Here’s the uncomfortable truth:

Boron is cheap, effective, and doesn’t require a prescription.

Meaning it directly competes with:

• osteoporosis drugs
• arthritis medications
• pain prescriptions
• anti-inflammatory drugs

As Walter Last explains in The Borax Conspiracy, because boron can be purchased over the counter — and for pennies — it disrupts profitable treatment markets. This has led to decades of exaggerated fear messaging around borax, even though micro-dosed borax is less toxic than table salt when used properly.

How to Use Boron Safely (Choose One Method)

There are two ways to increase boron — but you should not combine them.
Choose the method that fits your comfort level and stay consistent.

Option 1: Boron Supplements

(3–6 mg capsules)

Great if you want:

✔ simple dosing
✔ a familiar capsule
✔ an easy daily routine

Option 2: Micro-Dosed Borax

(Dr. Flechas + Dr. Newnham method)

Women’s dose:
1/8 teaspoon borax in 1 liter of filtered water
Sip throughout the day.

This route supports:

✔ joint comfort
✔ bone density
✔ parathyroid health
✔ calcium placement
✔ mental clarity
✔ inflammation
✔ sleep (when not taken at night)

⚠️ Important Safety Note

Do not combine borax water with a boron supplement.
Choose one or the other. More boron is not better — consistency is.

Final Thoughts

I’m not a doctor.
I’m sharing this based on reputable research from:

• Dr. Jorge Flechas
• Dr. Rex Newnham
• Dr. Forrest Nielsen
• Walter Last

…and my own lived experience.

Always do your own due diligence and listen to your body.
You know yourself better than anyone.

Even my husband thought I was crazy at first — until he saw the research.
Facts speak for themselves. 😉

Many blessings to you for abundant health, happiness and wellbeing ~
