When your partner doesn’t quite get what you’re going through

The Guide That’s Helping Couples Grow Stronger Through Menopause

I know how hard it can be when the person you love wants to help but doesn’t quite understand what you’re going through. This guide can change that conversation

Hi Reader,

The third week of every month I usually do a recipe but felt this was so important I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to share it. I'll send out a tasty dish later this week. Now let's dive in to a resource I've nicknamed "Menopause Relationship Rescue."

One of the hardest parts about navigating menopause isn’t just the physical or emotional shifts—it’s doing it alongside someone who may not fully understand what’s happening.

It’s not that our partners don’t care. It’s that they often don’t know how to help. And sometimes, that lack of understanding adds to the frustration and distance we already feel.

I’ve been there myself.

During my own transition, I was spinning plates—building my online business, homeschooling my daughter, managing a home, waking up at 5:30 a.m. to work with my fitness members—and then somehow supposed to still have energy for an evening of romance.

That pressure only made things worse. My body and mind were exhausted, and my libido (which was already struggling) took another hit.

Men and women experience this stage so differently. Many midlife men still have a strong drive, while women’s hormones are shifting dramatically. Of course, it’s not universal—some men deal with low libido due to stress, medications, or metabolic issues—but it’s often the woman who ends up feeling guilty or misunderstood.

That’s why I’m so glad to introduce you to my friend, Russell Betts. He’s a coach who works with men to help them better understand and support their wives through menopause. His work is compassionate, grounded, and practical—no awkward lectures, no shame.

He created a wonderful free resource called “How to Invite Him In: A Gentle 5-Step Guide to Growing Through Menopause Together.” It’s something you can share with your partner to help him see what you’re going through—without feeling like you’re shoving it in his face or saying, “Here, read this and maybe you’ll see I’m not crazy.”

In this short guide, Russell shares how to:

  • Shift the dynamic from “help me” to “grow with me”
  • Speak to your partner’s strengths so he feels confident supporting you
  • Communicate with more empathy and less conflict
  • Build mutual understanding and closeness during this phase of life

It’s a simple read—but a meaningful one.

Sometimes the best way to feel supported is to invite understanding rather than demand it. Russell’s work is helping make that conversation easier for couples everywhere—and I think you’ll really appreciate his approach.

Here are a few more FREE goodies from Russell to grab.

Here’s to bridging the gap!

Many blessings to you for abundant health, happiness and wellbeing ~

Strong and Beautiful after 50!
