I'll address the correct way to do cardio so you are stabilizing cortisol levels and introduce you to SIIT. Short intense interval training helps you improve your body composition so you'll be leaner and experience fat loss. This is different from HIIT which has shorter recovery periods compared to SIIT which has longer ones for a specific reason.

Hormone Centric Strength and Conditioning

Midlife women need to approach their strength and conditioning from a hormone centric position. What you did in your 20's and 30's doesn't work anymore because of the decrease in estrogen levels. You'll still work hard, but in a different way!
